WOMEN'S EMPOWERMENT
Craft center, operating within the premises of Nazakat's Sopore office, provides training to destitute girls and widows in cutting, tailoring, and offers them employment opportunities. This initiative safeguards them from exploitation while ensuring a consistent income. Established in 1992, this center has trained nearly 5000 girls and women in cutting, tailoring, embroidery, and needlework. These trained individuals are now self-sufficient, earning their livelihoods by sewing clothes and more, thus achieving financial independence.
Nazakat has also actively participated in national and international Kashmiri Handicraft exhibitions, showcasing handmade items for sale. This not only generates income but also boosts the morale and exposure of these marginalized women and girls. Furthermore, apart from its endeavors, Nazakat Kashmir has been conducting vocational training programs in cutting, tailoring, fashion designing, hand and machine embroidery, knitting, computer training, and first aid. The organization has also organized vaccination awareness programs, contributing to the community's well-being.
health care
We at Nazakat are also deeply committed to healthcare endeavors. Our organization is dedicated to providing free medicines and medical assistance to those in need. Furthermore, we actively organize blood donation camps, contributing to the availability of this life-saving resource in times of emergencies. Through these camps, we not only address the immediate needs of patients but also cultivate a culture of voluntary blood donation, promoting community participation in healthcare initiatives.

This project was taken up after conducting surveys, about the number of orphans and widows, child labor and the number of physically challenged people in some districts of the valley like Kupwara, Bandipora and Budgam. The Nazakat finally intends to come out with its own school in north Kashmir for the community rehabilitation of these children (educationally). We have provided six months diploma course in computer education was held in the office premises of Nazakat having well equipped computer lab which trained 200 boys and girls from time to time.
